The VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Lash Extensions has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in applying individual permanent lashes. You will have a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in eyelash extension treatments and provide you with the foundation for further learning or progression into specialist employment or self-employment.
Course Content
Client Consultation and Assessment: Understand client preferences, expectations, and natural lash conditions. Assess suitability for extensions based on lash health.
Health, Safety & Hygiene: Maintain clean tools, workstation, and environment. Follow hygiene protocols to prevent infection or irritation.
Selecting Lash Types & Styles: Choose suitable lash types, lengths, curls, and thickness. Match designs to the client’s eye shape and desired look.
Application Techniques: Isolate natural lashes to prevent sticking. Bond extensions securely for the right length, volume, and curl.
Maintenance & Infills: Perform regular infills for long-lasting results. Remove and replace grown-out or damaged lashes safely.
Aftercare Guidance: Educate clients on proper lash care and maintenance. Advise on makeup removal, sleep habits, and avoiding oil-based products.
Contra-indications & Contra-actions: Identify when treatment is unsuitable or needs adapting. Respond appropriately to any adverse reactions.
Record-keeping & Documentation: Keep detailed client records and patch test results. Note preferences, treatment details, and any issues.
Client Feedback & Satisfaction: Gather feedback to ensure quality service. Handle concerns promptly and professionally.
Professionalism & Customer Service: Show courtesy, empathy, and clear communication. Deliver excellent service to build client trust and loyalty.
Entry Requirements
– No previous experience required
– Good standard of English sufficient to complete the course competences and online examinations.
– Students must be over 16 years old to enrol on this course
